Erasmus+ Traineeships for the future language teachers in Czech primary and high schools

In order to support the method of teaching foreign languages at primary schools and high schools, Educa International, o.p.s. cooperates with universities abroad and seeks students – future language teachers who are interested in applying for the practice placement in the Czech Republic. The very first test for teachers took place last year and next 10 future language teachers (English, French and German) are coming to our schools in September 2012. These foreign interns work for free and their placement in Czech Republic is funded by the EU budget. The exact amount of money is allocated for the Erasmus program/internships for  their mother universities.

Educa International, o.p.s. has received the grant ESF for funding the international project “Second Chance School” in 2012.

This project has been established based on the Decision of granting No.: OP LZZ/5.1/77.00165, published by The Ministry of labor and social affairs within the Operating programe of Human resources and employment. The project focused on young people without any qualification, thus transfer of innovation to gain professional skills. The project was conducted with 3 Swedish partners.

SECOND CHANCE SCHOOL MANUAL

SCS MANUAL addresses both methodological questions such as “What is an ideal background for our trainee?” or ‘‘Which qualifications should our lecturers have?” as well as very pragmatic issues such the legal status, the post- project funding, or building and development of the Second Chance School. The answer to these questions lies in the implementation of principles by the Second Chance School program in the Czech Republic

SECOND CHANCE SCHOOL – GOOD PRACTICE IN CZ

Second chance school is not meant to satisfy a need for labour or studies, but to provide each student with the opportunity to develop his/her own potential and talent, because second chance school concepts stress an informal learning focusing on promotion of self-confidence and social or professional competences taking a holistic view of knowledge putting the focus on what they already know using it as a basis for their future development and on learning how they can acquire new knowledge and competences by using informal and innovative teaching methods.

Second Chance School – GOOD PRACTICE IN SWEDEN

SCS project outcomes shows the need to create a linkage between First Chance Schools (traditional primary- secondary schools, vocational training centers, etc.) and “our“ Second Chance School and  to promote dialogue and partnership at local level – between the various economic players, voluntary and community associations and public authorities, to prevent the halting of the development of the project. To prevent this from happening, these parties have to accept to work together and pool all the human and material resources at their command. Company sponsoring of schools, agreements between our school and employers, and the development of educational practice-based methods are just some of the ways that excluded youth can gain better access to obtain know-how and meet satisfactory levels of qualifications, within an appropriate teaching environment. How this can be accomplished we discovered through cooperation with three experienced partners from Sweden.

The Guardian of the Galaxy – by Author Michal Řeháček

This book has been published within the international cooperation of the Czech Educa International and the Swedish SCS which are trying to support young authors. While seeking for other opportunities for cooperation and while trying to show the world that the cooperation is possible on various different levels Educa sponsored this venture as well – printing and publishing the book by a 14-years old student of the basic school in  Prague and the illustrations of an 18-years old student of SCS in Norrköping. (It can be bough here).
